In 1942, we moved to Sioux City, where I spent the remainder of my childhood before graduating from high school in 1951 and joining the Navy.  Following are a few notes and photos of these years.

(c. 1948)

We first moved into a rented house in Morningside (1718 South Cedar Street) where we lived for perhaps a year and a half.  I attended nearby Whittier School for the remainder of 4th and part of 5th grade.

In 1943, Dad bought a house on Cecelia Street for $2000.   It was the first time that we owned our own house, and it is where I spent the remainder of my childhood.

Living on S. Cecelia, I attended Joy School through 6th grade.

I then attended East Jr. High School for grades 7-9.
